Hi, I’m Sabbah.

I’m a ceramic artist working primarily in stoneware, guided by a simple belief: imperfection is beautiful.

My practice moves between hand-built forms, often built through the slow rhythm of coiling, and wheel-thrown pieces where movement, gravity, and touch shape the final form. Rather than seeking symmetry, I embrace irregularity as an honest record of the making process. Every mark, curve, and subtle variation carries the presence of the hand that created it.

Clay, for me, is a material of memory. It remembers pressure, holds pauses, and preserves gestures long after the work leaves the studio. I explore these qualities through layered glazes that pool, break, and flow across the surface, allowing oxidation and reduction firings to complete the work in ways that cannot be fully predicted. Fire becomes a collaborator, revealing depth, texture, and quiet moments of surprise.

My journey has been shaped by rigorous mentorship and years of dedicated practice. I trained under Rekha Goyal in Mumbai and Clayfingers in Kerala, before furthering my education internationally with Alberto Bustos in Italy. My work has been exhibited at the Florence Biennale (2018), Doon Literature Festival (2025), and Bilzar at Antara, Dehradun (2025 and 2026). Today, my ceramics are part of corporate collections in Gurgaon and private collections across Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun, and Italy.

Each piece I create is intended to be lived with rather than simply admired. Whether functional or sculptural, every work is moulded in clay, transformed by fire, and finished through the quiet language of glaze, texture, and light. They are objects that celebrate presence over perfection and invite a lasting connection with the people who choose to live alongside them.
